Mark Eliyahu

Mark Eliyahu is an internationally recognised musician known for his mastery of the kamanche and his ability to blend traditional string instruments with modern composition and performance. He was born in Dagestan in 1982.

Raised in a deeply musical household, Mark grew up surrounded by sound. His father, Peretz Eliyahu, is a noted composer, and his mother is a violinist. His early exposure to music shaped his artistic journey. By age sixteen, he had already begun to travel and study with various masters. His search for deeper connection to Persian‑Azeri and folk musical traditions led him to live and learn in Baku, Azerbaijan under Adalat Vazirov.

Mark’s live performances are widely praised for their emotional resonance and technical excellence. He frequently sells out venues across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. He combines the ancient voice of the kamanche with modern elements such as electronic textures, creating a timeless yet contemporary sound that draws in diverse audiences.

He also composes. His works include notable themes for film and television, as well as solo albums and collaborative international projects.
