Docklands Sinfonia

Docklands Sinfonia is a dynamic and versatile orchestra founded in 2009 by conductor Spencer Down. Based in East London, it works seamlessly across genres including film, rock & pop, and classical music.

The orchestra has built a strong reputation for ambitious performances, such as its debut at Buckingham Palace for Queen Elizabeth II, world premieres like Roy Budd’s score for the 1925 silent film Phantom of the Opera at major venues including the Barbican and London Coliseum, and collaborations with celebrated artists and ensembles from the classical, popular music, and film production spaces.

Its leadership includes Maestro Spencer Down, a conductor with a vision for connecting high calibre music with broad audiences, and Emma Blanco as Leader, who brings her own pedigree of orchestral and chamber performance experience.

Docklands Sinfonia is well known in the community for its educational outreach, having introduced classical music to thousands of school children through specially commissioned works, and for creating performances in unique spaces like the Tower Bridge Bascule Chamber beneath the River Thames.

With HP Talents, Docklands Sinfonia represents a partnership of artistry, versatility, and integrity. Ideal for high-profile concerts, film scoring, corporate galas, and events that demand both emotional impact and musical excellence.
